March 23rd, 2023, Arlington, Virginia – Blake Willson Group is proud to announce that Marilyn Dyess is a recipient of the 2023 Northern Virginia 40 Under 40 award, presented by the Leadership Center for Excellence and Leadership Fairfax. The 40 Under 40 honor recognizes forty young leaders who demonstrate exceptional leadership in their personal or professional spheres and who are devoted to making positive change within our community through work, volunteerism, and service. Ms. Dyess was selected because of her lifelong dedication to service through her work with Blake Willson Group (BWG) and throughout the community. Marilyn supports BWG as the Director of Operations, where she is responsible for the company’s internal operations with a focus on streamlining and developing processes to improve business efficiency. She works closely with all departments across the organization as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and directly oversees the HR, Recruiting, IT, Security, Administration, and Contracts Management departments.
Outside of her work with BWG, Marilyn is known as a leader in non-profit management with proven success in the growth and program development of philanthropic organizations across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Additionally, Ms. Dyess is trained in individual crisis management, with a history of supporting children, adolescents, and adults.
Ms. Dyess earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from The College of William and Mary, is a Certified HR Professional (SHRM-CP), a President’s Volunteer Service Award Recipient, a lifelong member of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), a member of the 2023 class of Leadership Arlington, and an aspiring Cake Boss. In her spare time, Marilyn supports Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership’s Virginia chapter as the Corporate Board’s Immediate Past President.
